Blessing of the Animals – October 4th

Come join us at Bad Little Falls Park in Machias on Saturday, October 4th at 2:00 PM for a Blessing of the Animals ceremony in honor of St. Francis of Assisi who was known for his special connection to animals. We will open with a brief prayer service followed by an individual blessing for each creature. You are welcome to bring any species to be blessed if it is safe for them and others. You are also welcome to bring a photo instead, and children are welcome to bring a favorite stuffed animal.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Undercroft at St. Aidan’s, 36 Dublin Street.
