Father John officially began his duties at St. Aidan’s, Machias, and Christ Church, Eastport, on July 1st, 2023.
John will be splitting his time between St. Aidan’s and Christ Church and serves as Rector for both parishes. He and his family moved onto an 1860 homestead in Marion Township where they are happily growing their “flock” with two cats, a beagle pup named Bede, 18 chickens, and goats and pigs to come. Their eldest is a student at WVU, next are a high school junior and a high school freshman at the Maine School for Science and Math in Limestone, and their youngest attends elementary school in Washington County. John’s wife Miriam works as admin assistant in the behavioral health office at Pleasant Point reservation near Eastport.
He holds a Master’s in Divinity with from Virginia Theological Seminary (2016-2019) where his studies included spirituality, Hebrew, and interfaith dialogue. John was nominated for the Preaching Excellence Program. He preached monthly and taught weekly as a seminarian. He had Clinical Pastoral Education at Sibley Memorial Hospital. John went on a pilgrimage to southern India with Holy Cross Monastery, NY. His B.S. is in Digital Media Arts from John Brown University, AR (1998-2002) Interactive design, video, animation, minor in Illustration. Cum Laude, Honors. John has previously served parishes in West Virginia and Western Massachusetts after being sponsored by the Diocese of Arkansas.
