St. Aidan’s Members Make Chrismons for Christmas
On Saturday, November 15th, 10 members of St. Aidan’s gathered together to make Chrismons for decorating the tree they will have for Christmas. Chrismons are symbols of Christ or some part of Christ’s ministry (the word itself is a combination of “Christ and Monograms”) The first Chrismons were creations of Frances Kipps Spencer of Danville, Virginia. They were first used in her home church, Ascension Lutheran Church, in Danville in 1957. They are made from white and gold material, the liturgical colors of the Christmas season.
