COVID-19 – Impact On Taize and Sunday Services

In response to rapidly changes events around the Corona virus, otherwise known as COVID-19, our priest, the Reverend Lynn V. Rutledge+ sent out the following to our St. Aidan’s community this morning, 3/16.

“Dear Friends,

With regret, and based on our Governor’s recommendations concerning
gatherings of more than 10 people when seniors will be present, it seems
best to cancel the Taize service that had been scheduled for this
Wednesday.  I am sorry about this.  Steve Wiggin suggests that perhaps
we can have this service during the summer. The other Lenten ecumenical
services of March 25 and April 1 are also cancelled.

Regarding Sunday services, we may well hold the service using Zoom, an
internet platform.  I’m looking into this now.  If we decide to go this
route, I’ll have a scheduled tutorial during the week so that everyone
can be comfortable with the program by Sunday.
